WHO ARE THE FOLLOWING SHOWS “TARGETED” TO AND WHAT KIND OF COMPANIES WOULD PAY FOR ADS TO BE AIRED DURING THE SHOW? Target Market

This Add targets Younger to middle aged women, Those who frequently watch shows on ABC, The show is a Drama-Comedy so those interested in such genres would also enjoy such a television production, the content and material is suitable for an older audience, The name of the show tells all “housewives” being the subject would attract Housewives, the cast goes to show there is many women in the show so it would be appealing to women and few but some men. Television ads/ commercials being run during this time would be those that appeal to the targeted audience, Household cleaning products, clothing, Kitchen appliances/ cookware, and “Female products” are all those that would pay to run ads during the allotted time the show is playing.

This Show is targeted towards, young adults, and towards those who are interested in drama/comedy television shows, people in the range of are more interested in this show and others like this because their all growing up in the same time frame and would be able to understand and get enjoyment out of a lot of the jokes. Some advertisements that would be playing when this show is on the air are those for fast food companies, like mc Donald's and Wendy's also household products such as kitchen appliances/products and cleaning products like “Swiffer” or “glad”, and because the audience has such a wide range target they would have retail stores advertising such as Wal-Mart or Zellers.

Family guy has a wide range of targeted audiences, Many people enjoy watching the show, Teenagers are probably the most widely targeted seeing as there is such a huge demographic of them, those interested in comedies, guys are probably more likely to watch the show than women due to the sexist nature of some of the jokes, as for age group seems like the pretty common area as younger audiences are exposed to the sexual content and anybody older may find the joke unfunny or immature. There are usually many ads during the show considering the 30 minuets run time, and the fact that only 21 minutes of it is the show, 9 minutes consist of just ads for things such as those targeted towards the same audience as who watch the show, sport-check and other athletic clothing stores, department stores are another that take up this add time such as Wal-Mart and Zellers, fast food is another that would be shown quite often.

Jersey shore as like many other shows has a very wide range target audience, anywhere from would be their immediate target audience as well those interested in reality television shows, the cast being years old, it relates to their lifestyle and interests. They don’t play many commercials on MTV but they find time to advertise about things such as contest by sponsors, a lot of their commercials advertise for MTV themselves, they are getting more people to watch their shows. Other commercials that are shown during this time is those for alcohol and they also advertise sports games and other retail products i.e. Wal-Mart, target, Zellers.

Supply and Demand WHAT HAPPENS TO PRICES OF ITEMS WHEN THE FOLLOWING THINGS OCCUR?

An Ice storm hits and the power goes out Power generators? Due to the Power outages, demand would increase greatly, therefore the price of power generators would also increase greatly, The quantity would stay the same and there would still be the same amount available for purchase thus disrupting the equilibrium. Those companies that create gas powered and friction powered generators would benefit more then those that charge off excess electricity and solar power, Days, even weeks and even months will be without power, and due to the cold weather heat would be a must and generators (higher end ones) would be able to fire furnaces and other heating systems. These companies would be able to raise prices due to the demand especially if their selling to the government.

Boxing Day? Retail Items During boxing day the prices of things would go down greatly, it is after Christmas therefore stores are still overstocked and need to get rid of products for upcoming seasons and holidays. They make a ton more sales, besides the fact that they are making less of a profit the large sales number evens that out and it also encourages customers to come back when there aren’t sales due to the fact that they were happy with the products they got, another tradition for some family's is instead of opening presents on Christmas day they go shopping on boxing day and purchase their presents the, saving money and getting more for less.

Roses on Valentine’s Day Valentines day On valentines day the number one gift sold is Roses, they are at such a high demand that most flower companies can not keep up with the orders from customers, seeing as the demand is increasing so would the cost, the price of roses on valentines day can almost sometimes double in price, if so many people are looking to buy roses then they will basically pay anything to get them for their loved one. The problem is that if prices of roses increase, demand increases there is still always going to be a limited supply so not everybody can get what they want and to do so they may have to pay a large amount.

Fans and Air Conditioners in July Fans and Air Conditioners In the summer time, seeing as the temperature can reach quite high in the summer time it is time to get rid of the heaters and put in some air conditioners and fans, many people spend lots of money trying to keep cool, The price is always dependant on the company, most of the time the logical answer is that the price would increase due to the fact that there would be a large demand but often times they have good sales on Air conditioners and fans at the beginning of the summer and well into July the price goes up and the item is no longer on sale so it fluctuates.

Marketing Mix (4p’s) Compare McDonalds to Bravo to Blue Star Quality (service and product) PricePlacePromotion McDonalds The food quality isn’t the greatest and not for those looking to eat well. Price varies from high to low, you get more/ better food, the more you pay. There are many locations but the primary on sits on a very busy street. They Do a lot of advertising by using commercials and giving out coupons on a regular basis. Bravo They have good food but portions are small, they do have a large selection The prices are quite expensive because it is a high class restaurant They were located on Niagara street which is very busy although they went out of business. Bravo did not do much advertising although most restaurants don’t. Blue Star They have good food and you get large portions. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you receive Blue star is located on king street, there is not many people out that way and isn’t the nicest location. Blue star does not do much advertising because it is a single location and does not cater to a large are
