Izmir Cattle Breeders Association is a democratic organization which was established by cattle breeders to obtain high producing animals. IZMIR CATTLE BREEDERS ASSOCIATION

The purpose of the Cattle Breeders Association is to have animal breeders bred high producing animals in Izmir ensuring coordination among its members. For this purpose, the Association provides the following services:  Improving the genetic potential of both domestic breeds and imported breeds and enhance their fertility/productivity rates.  Keeping the pedigree and preliminary pedigree records to protect the sources of native breed genes.  Control of fertility rates.  Representation of the members nationally and internationally.  Guiding producers for getting agricultural credits and conducting animal breeding studies, planned by the Association.

* Working Items: Pedigree and fertility control studies, Artificial Insemination, breeding programs, sales of breeding animals, animal health, publishing education/training, marketing and promotion of the products,

* Pedigree studies: Within the scope of the project, in 2015, the number of available farms was , number of cows was and total number of breeding cattle was The following studies are being done by the Association for the members incorporated into the pedigree project, Keeping pedigree data, trait information, calving-breeding (A.I.) information, and keeping information for culling.

* Milk Analysis Laboratory: The purpose of animal breeding studies is to provide/gather high producing animals and enhance their fertility rates. For this reason, a protocol has been signed between the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock and The Cattle Breeders Central Association and then a laboratory was established.

* Mobile Breeding Project: The purpose of this project is to minimize interference by hand in A.I. and Embryo Transfer practices and use mobile technology in these practices. In this way, we aim to gather information transiently at the time of practices and generalize this system in Izmir.
