ASSOCIATION OF EUROPEAN CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY Austrian chambers of commerce 1. Childrens‘ Business week Approximately 50 businessmen and women from diverse industries are invited and convey their visions and ideas to the children (workshops, business meetings or seminars) If required, a team of teachers supports the invited guest speakers in drawing up presentations or workshop concepts. In this project, successful corporate role models are presented to young Austrians. The contact made with prominent figures in the business community broadens the horizons of the children so that they are given a chance to understand entrepreneurship as a concrete opportunity children have participated so far.

ASSOCIATION OF EUROPEAN CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY Advantages for entrepreneurs.. Business people and children like to learn from each other They hear a group of persons with ideas, they would not meet otherwise They can pass on the spirit of the “older generation” to the kids It’s a place to talk about ideas which are not invented yet or could be done better They can increase their reputation Take over social responsibility They can present their company to future staff

ASSOCIATION OF EUROPEAN CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY 2. Entrepreneur´s Skills Certificate Policy background: Member States should integrate entrepreneurship in all school's curricula Status quo in Austria: So far, entrepreneurship education is anchored comprehensively only in the curricula of colleges of business administration and of business schools. need for action in other schools, especially in schools with largest deficit : the compulsory schools and general secondary academic schools. The Entrepreneurship´s Skills Certificate allows to provide more school children with a high quality entrepreneurial education and a positive attitude towards the economy and encourages a fundamental entrepreneurial attitude among young people.

ASSOCIATION OF EUROPEAN CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY The Entrepreneurship certificate is…... an additional qualification one module of the final examination of regulated crafts and trades... a didactic innovation It allows the outstanding humanities based education to be supplemented by a sound knowledge of business and commerce. Unlike similar schemes, these courses also provide an explanation of the links between business and macroeconomics.... based on voluntary participation commitment and motivation among learners and teachers... leads to the awarding of a certificate additional asset for young job seekers... educated in modules and transferable

ASSOCIATION OF EUROPEAN CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY Instead of conclusions…  We have to teach risks, the ‘how to’s’, ‘know how’s’ not only knowledge!  We cannot “make” entrepreneurs but create the best possible environment
