PERSONAL FINANCE Why Personal Finance? A financial literacy high school graduation requirement began in New Jersey in All students will take at least 2.5-credits in financial, economic, business and entrepreneurial literacy. By graduation, students will demonstrate an understanding about how the economy works and their own role in the economy and develop the necessary skills to effectively manage personal finances.

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS Organization Students are required to bring to every class: A Binder with dividers A pen or pencil A calculator A USB

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS Do Now At the beginning of each class, a “Do Now” activity will be assigned. Directions for the activity will be written on the board. These activities contribute to class participation points, and are required components of the notebook checks throughout the semester. Notes Students are expected to take clarifying notes throughout each class. Study Guides and Test Study guides will be attached to each unit packet and the answers to the study guide will be posted on Genesis attached to the test assignment prior to each test.

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS Absences/Missed Work Check in with the teacher immediately following an absence. Upon returning to school, one day for each day of absence is allotted for make-up work. Late Work All assignments must be presented in completion on the assigned due date for full credit. Late assignment grades will be decreased one letter grade each school day after the assigned due date.

CLASSROOM RULES Respect Always be respectful to your peers, as well as your teachers. You must give respect to earn respect. Passes Passes to the lavatory will be available if used appropriately. You must take your handbook and sign out of the classroom. If passes are requested excessively, they will be denied. No passes will be issued for lockers. Be sure to have everything you need with you at the start of class. Code of Conduct Comply with the Robbinsville School District Code of Conduct. Violation of classroom policies will be handled according to school district policy.

Grading Grades Course grades will be based on a total points system. Points will be earned for the following: Projects Class work Presentations Tests Participation Notebook checks Homework
