Who was Rosa Parks By Isabella Stockman

What Rosa Parks is famous for. Rosa Parks was very famous for standing up for blacks. Can you imagine being a black person using different water fountains and going to bad schools. Could you imagine getting in trouble just because you were black. Well that’s what Rosa had to go through.

Facts about Rosa Parks childhood Rosa was born in Tuskegee Alabama on February 4, 1913. Rosa grew up in pine level Alabama with a brother named Sylvester. When Rosa was two in a half her parents separated. Rosa lived with her grandparents for a while. Rosas full name is Rosa Louis McCauley. Rosa’s mom Leona was a teacher and her dad James was a carpenter. Rosa mother sent her to live with her relatives in Montgomery so she could go to a better school.

Rosa growing up Rosa got married to Raymond Parks and then she got a degree and then worked as a nurse. Then she got a job as a secretary at an army air force. Rosa had a brother that worked in the army. Rosa Parks did not listen to what a bus driver said. Rosa was friends with someone white. Rosa met Dr.Martin Luther king jr and Adam Clayton Powell jr. The bus driver took Rosa to jail. Raymond and Mrs.Durr bailed her out.

When Rosa was old Rosa made people walk to school work and other places. Rosa got a job for sewing. Raymond died of cancer in 1997 and 3 months later her brother died of the same disease. Rosa wrote a books called Rosa my story and Dear Mrs. Parks and todays youth and quite strength. On October 24 2005 Rosa Parks died at the age of 92 and her coffin was in a building in Washington D.C. and more than 4,000 people showed up at her funeral.
