Students In Care The KP Story The Keewatin Patricia District School Board (KPDSB) hypothesized that students currently enrolled in the school board that are Crown Ward, under foster care arrangements and essentially the responsibility of the province may be at higher risk academically, socially and possibly requiring more support from within the school board as well as externally with community agencies and organizations. Based on this assumption, KPDSB identified this as a high priority to not only identify these students but to assess the qualitative and quantitative information to better understand the learning needs of the students in order to foster a climate within the schools to support them socially, mentally and provide the necessary resources to ensure the overall wellbeing of these students.
