ALL THE STEPS The steps to the writing process are: Brainstorming Drafting Revising Editing Publishing What do all these steps mean though?!

BRAINSTORMING Brainstorming, which means thinking of ideas, can look different for every writer. Here are some examples: The Skiing Trip Went during Xmas Dislocated arm Tell a story to another person and write notes Draw some pictures or gather some photos Use a graphic organizer like the one to the left

DRAFTING Drafting means that you are writing your first draft to a story. DO NOT worry about spelling, punctuation, etc. durng cristmas a few years ago i went to colorado with my family to ski. i drove with my mom and dad we got there and met my brothers! Then we went skiing down the hill it was a lot of fun! On the last day, my ski got cot when i was going fast and i fell. I dislocated my left sholder! I had a xray and had to wear a sling for two weeks. the end

REVISING In this step you use what you learned in class and from your writing partner to make your writing better. durng cristmas a few years ago i went to colorado with my family to ski. i drove with my mom and dad. It took us 6 hours to get ther! i got to slep most of the time. we got there and met my brothers! the room was rely cool. I shard a room with eric my younger brother. There were 3 stories. out the back you could see the mountan. Then we went skiing down the hill it was a lot of fun! i frst went down the easy green paths with my famly, but then i went down the hardr ones. REVISING Revising should take you a long time. You should end up with TONS of versions of your story. durng cristmas a few years ago i went to colorado with my family to ski. i drove with my mom and dad. On the last day, we decided to ski down some blue paths. on the way up we saw a guy being pulld down by some rescu people. I told my mom, “I’m glad that’s not me!” We went down a few hills and then decided to go down 1 more b4 we left. halfway down, my ski got cot when i was going fast and i fell. My mom scremed and came to me. i blacked out but when I woke up i new I dislocated my left sholder! It hurt rely bad and I coudnt move it. I had a xray and had to wear a sling for two weeks. the end i have nevr gone skiing again!

EDITING Here is where you finally correct any grammar mistakes you see. Have your writing partner look to to help! We went down a few hills and then decided to go down one more before we left.
