Isaiah 14

"Naked I came from my mother's womb, And naked shall I return there. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; Blessed be the name of the LORD."

The Fall of a Prideful King

Proverbs 16:18 “Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.” 19 “Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, Than to divide the spoil with the proud”

‎ Isaiah 14:1-3 “But the LORD will have mercy on the descendants of Jacob. He will choose Israel as his special people once again. He will bring them back to settle once again in their own land.

And people from many different nations will come and join them there and unite with the people of Israel. ‎ 2 The nations of the world will help the people of Israel to return, and those who come to live in the LORD’s land will serve them.

Those who captured Israel will themselves be captured, and Israel will rule over its enemies. ‎ In that wonderful day when the LORD gives His people rest from sorrow and fear, from slavery and chains,”

Isaiah 14:4-8 “you will taunt the king of Babylon. You will say, “The mighty man has been destroyed. Yes, your insolence is ended. For the LORD has crushed your wicked power and broken your evil rule.

“You struck the people with endless blows of rage and held the nations in your angry grip with unrelenting tyranny. But finally the earth is at rest and quiet. Now it can sing again! Even the trees of the forest— the cypress trees and the cedars of Lebanon—

-sing out this joyous song: ‘Since you have been cut down, no one will come now to cut us down!’

The welcoming of a tyrant into Hell! Isaiah 14:9-11 “In the place of the dead there is excitement over your arrival. The spirits of world leaders and mighty kings long dead stand up to see you. With one voice they all cry out, ‘Now you are as weak as we are!

‎ 11 “Your might and power were buried with you. The sound of the harp in your palace has ceased. Now maggots are your sheet, and worms your blanket.’”

Isaiah 14:12 “How you are fallen from heaven, O shining star, son of the morning! You have been thrown down to the earth, you who destroyed the nations of the world.”

Isaiah 14:13 “For you said to yourself, ‘I will ascend to heaven and I will set my throne above God’s stars. I will preside on the mountain of the gods far away in the north. ‎ I will climb to the highest heavens and I will be like the Most High.’

Ezekiel 28:12-15 "Son of man, take up a lamentation for the king of Tyre, and say to him, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: "You were the seal of perfection, Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering:

Isaiah 14:15-16 “Instead, you will be brought down to the place of the dead, down to its lowest depths. Everyone there will stare at you and ask, ‘Can this be the one who shook the earth and made the kingdoms of the world tremble?” ‎

Revelation 19:13-14 “He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean,(us) followed Him on white horses.”

Revelation 19:15-16 “Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.”

“And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”

Revelation 19:19-21 “And I saw the beast (Anti-Christ), the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence,”

“by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.”

21 “And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.”

Ephesians 6:17 “The Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.”

Revelation 20:1-3 “Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years;

“and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished...”

Revelation 20:10 “The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.”
