Sights

 The fortress first built by William the Conqueror has served as a citadel, royal palace, seat of goverment, a prison.  The Tower now protects the Crown Jewels.  „Beefeaters“ who assist today ´s visitors still wear the uniforms which date from Tudor times.

 The Abbey was founded in the 11th century by the king Edward the Confessor.  Coronations of every king or queen spanning 900 years have been held here. It is the burial place of kings.

 London´s best known and most distinctive bridge.  That is the only bridge over the Thames which rises.

 It is the spiritual centre of the city of London.  The architect was Sir Christopher Wren.

 At Westminster, on the bank of the river Thames, are the Houses of Parlament where laws governing British life are debated and enacted.

 Is the residence of the British Prime Minister.

 Is the best known royal palace in the world.

 This is actually the name of the 16 ton bell. The clock dial is 23 feet across and the hands are over 14 feet long.  The Clock Tower is 320 feet high.

 London Eye represents London´s past and looking forward to its future.  It gives you the opportunity to enjoy seeing all London.
