4-H Club By Taylor Tallon

History In H started in Nebraska about 100 years ago. 4-H was started in Canada, but know is in 50 country's world wide. But they all started at different wide. It first started with growing and, baking contest and know they added arts and crafts, cattle, horses, bunnies, chickens. But other have different stuff they do for the fair. The foundations of 4-H began in 1902 with the work of several people in different parts of the United States. The focal point of 4-H has been the idea of practical and hands-on learning, which came from the desire to make public school education more connected to rural life.

Time and Dedication Every summer I leave to go to the sweet farming state of Nebraska. I started going down there when I was 7 years old but I couldn’t start 4-H until I was 8 years old by January 1. So I have been doing 4-H ever since. My brother is starting 4-H this summer with me and my cousins. But it has really paid of with all the money I get from it.

Preparation It take about a mouth and 2 weeks to prepare for the tasks head at fair. But when you get to fair it all comes down how has worked with their animals and how tamed they are with you. But some times that doesn't cause the judge is the one who is the one you have to impress. But that isn’t hard if you know what you are doing and if you know his weakness. To earn the ribbon you want or a halter.

How to prepare for fair First I go an md pick out my calves for fair. Then I have to tame them with a halter and feed them show feed to make them gain so weight. Then we have to make them use to s show stick and comb.

Fair week Fair week starts about July 22 though the 27. It has so many activity you can do wail you are there. But not all people get to play around so have to work for the whole week with there. That’s me I have to get my calves ready for show day and get everything so I can show it to the judge. I’m usually showing for the whole day. But sometimes I get to go and get something to snack on for the day. But I still get to eat lunch which is really good cause I can get away from all the people.

When fair is over When fair is over I pack up the stuff we brought sell are cow if we where selling them. Then we take all of are other cows home. After that we take them out to paster or we kill them for meat for the rest of the summer. But after fair I'm free and I get to do what ever I want. Abut the second week of August I get to come home to start football.
