YVG Macedonia Development of Local youth strategy Veles, Macedonia

 2002 – Peru: pilot program 23 young people, 7 months of training, discussions and meetings Lessons learned motivate other regions  Since 2003: Initiative expands to other provinces of Peru Initiative expands to other LAC countries Initiative expands to other regions of the world  Each country develops its own New Voices model

 To familiarize young people with the World Bank’s work;  To bring fresh ideas to the work of the World Bank;  To make recommendations based upon young people’s experiences;  To provide contribution during the preparations of the Bank’s analytical and advisory activities;  To exchange knowledge between the youth and the World Bank;  To strengthen young people’s capacity as leaders and decision makers;  To allow the youth to bring development knowledge and expertise to their communities.

 The Local youth strategy is adopted by the local Council.  Budgeting provided for the priority projects.  Program for attracting donors for the selected projects  Establishment of String committee with representatives from: Local NGO Local Government Local institutions

Creating manual for development of local youth strategy that will be used by NGO in other Municipalities. Establishing cooperation with 14 Municipalities. Training of NGO representatives from 14 municipalities that will implement the project.
