♯ TVPEConf Tees Valley Primary PE & School Sport Conference 2016 Lis Greenwell Primary School Sport Project Officer – Tees Valley Sport Sport Premium – Reporting your Impact in 2016

♯ TVPEConf Objectives To understand the vision, objectives and key indicators for the PE & Sport Premium Funding. To be fully aware of the STATUTORY requirements of Ofsted, under the Common Inspection Framework. To understand IMPACT and be able to report against the 5 key indicators.

♯ TVPEConf VISION xxx pupils leaving primary school xxx xxx and with the xxx, xxx and xxx necessary to equip them for a xxx, xxx and xxx in physical activity and sport VISION All pupils leaving primary school physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy, active lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport

♯ TVPEConf OBJECTIVE To achieve self-sustaining improvement in the quality of PE and sport in primary schools. It is expected that schools will see an improvement against the following 5 key indicators: 1.the engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity – kick- starting healthy active lifestyles 2.the profile of PE and sport being raised across the school as a tool for whole school improvement 3.increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport 4.broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils 5.increased participation in competitive sport.

♯ TVPEConf Conditions of Grant The premium MUST be used to fund additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of PE & sport, for the benefit of primary-aged pupils, in the academic year, to encourage the development of healthy, active lifestyles. The Secretary of State does not consider the following expenditure as falling within the scope of additional and sustainable improvement: Employing coaches or specialist teachers to cover planning preparation and assessment (PPA) arrangements – these should come out of school’s core staffing budgets. Teaching the minimum requirements of the national curriculum PE programmes of study – including those specified for swimming.

♯ TVPEConf Website Publication Maintained schools, including those that convert to academies, must publish information about their use of the premium on the website by 4 April Schools should publish; the amount of premium received; a full breakdown of how it has been spent (or will be spent); what impact the school has seen on pupils’ PE and sport participation and attainment how the improvements will be sustainable in the future. Schools should also consider how their use of the premium is giving pupils the opportunity to develop a healthy, active lifestyle.

♯ TVPEConf Pupil outcomes: participation Take part in… Represented the school in… Attend… Performed at… Competed in… Are active for… …once a week …each term

♯ TVPEConf Pupil outcomes: what can pupils do? PHYSICAL PERSONAL CREATIVE THINKING E.g. Have greater agility… E.g. Are more resilient… E.g. Set realistic personal goals… E.g. Solve problems… SOCIAL E.g. Mix better with their peers...
