Accessing Your Documents from Your Personal Computer
Work Folders Requirements Work Folders has two main requirements: Your home computer uses Windows 8 or a higher operating system. Your school computer uses Windows 7 or a higher operating system.
Step 1 Click on Start and search for Work Folders. Select Work Folders and then choose Set Up Work Folders.
Step 2 Enter your school address and press Next. The pictures below show a staff address and a student address.
Step 3 Enter your username and password. Press OK. This is the same username/password that you use to log into and Windows computers at school.
Step 4 If desired, you can change the default save location. Either way, press Next.
Step 5 Finally, accept the security settings for data access. Depending on your computer, you may be prompted to create or change your home computer password. If so, your home computer password will need to be: 8 characters Complex (one number, one symbol, one capital letter)
So now what? You will see a Work Folders location on your computer. You can open up your desktop, documents, or other synced folders from here. Save files from your home computer to this folder to access them at school. At the bottom of the Work Folders screen, you can see your current Sync Status. When saving files to Work Folders, make sure Sync Status says Synced before turning off your home computer.
Troubleshooting If you receive any errors while connecting, take a screenshot of the error and provide it with a tech repair request. If you do not see any of your work files and successfully connected, have a tech repair request submitted to enable folder redirection on your account. You can see additional information and change settings by going to Control Panel and searching for Work Folders.
Mobile Access If you own an iOS device, you can download the free Work Folders app for mobile file access.
