 The Nomura Jellyfish is in the family of Rhizostomatidae. It’s genus is Nemopilema, and its species is N. Nomurai.

 The Nomura Jellyfish can grow up to about 6 ½ feet and weigh up to 440 pounds.  It uses light as a way to navigate and a source of vision.

 The Nomura Jellyfish is usually found in the waters near North Korea, South Korea, and China. Lately they have been found off the coast of Japan.  Does not serve a real role in its community.

 The Nomura Jellyfish does not have any symbiotic relationships.

 The Nomura Jellyfish mainly eats plankton, fish eggs, crustaceans, and small fish.  No fish really eat the enormous jellyfish, but humans do. They dry up and salt the jellyfish and eat it.

 The reproduction process of the Nomura Jellyfish is not known, but is being researched by the Japanese government.

 A reproductive benefit of the Nomura Jellyfish is that it can reproduce so that its species does not go extinct.

 A threat of the Nomura Jellyfish is fisherman, because they get caught in the fisherman's nets and they have to kill them.  An environmental hazard for the Jellyfish is global warming. They are migrating to the warmer waters by Japan and getting caught in more fisherman’s nets.

 The only real threat of the Jellyfish is that they can give you a painful, but usually not fatal sting.

 Nomura jellyfish serve no real purpose or importance in its environment, besides being a food source to some fish.
