04-19 Americans with Disabilities Act The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in employment, state and local government agencies, transportation provided by public accommodation and commercial facilities, and telephone services available to the public.

04-19 Americans with Disabilities Act It is the intent of the Brunswick Fire Company No. 1 not to, discriminate in anyway shape or form. If a time arises when a member fits the criteria of the ADA, it is the responsibility of that member to provide the Chief with a signed letter from that member’s doctor stating what types of duties are permissible to be performed by that member.

04-19 Americans with Disabilities Act Meaning, it will be up to the member and his/her doctor to determine what should be or shouldn’t be performed. That information will be kept confidential between the member, his/her doctor, and the Chief.
