What is Aquatic Science? The study of water ecosystems Specifically, it encompasses a range of disciplines concerned with the oceans, rivers, lakes, their geology, composition, and the life forms that live in them.

Marine Biology Involves the study of marine organisms, their behaviors, and their interactions with the environment. Branches of Aquatic Science

Oceanography the study of the seafloor's formations, composition and history. Also encompasses marine geology and geophysics

Aquaculture Concerns the management of fisheries and hatcheries, where fish eggs are incubated and hatched, before the growing fish are released into the wild or sold to fish farms.

High quality H 2 0 Water is a polar covalently bonded molecule made of one oxygen atom and two hydrogen atoms. Due to its unique structure & characteristics water behaves differently than a lot of similarly composed molecules.

History of Aquatic Exploration

Study of Water One of the most famous scientific discoveries involving water occurred by a mathematician named Archimedes.

Archimedes’ Principle He discovered and explained the principle of buoyancy. He showed that when an object is placed in water, the mass of the water displaced is equal to the mass of the object.

Q: How do ships float?

A: A greater force is pushing up on the ship than the weight force pushing down.

Buoyancy is the ability of a fluid (liquid or gas) to exert an upward force on an object placed in it.
