Adverbs as modifiers – quite, pretty, very, a little……. 非常地 – surely, certainly, truly, really 確定地 – highly, especially, surprisingly, amazingly 高度地 特別地 – desperately, absolutely, dramatically, tremendously 極度地 – entirely, completely, thoroughly, wholly 全然地 – undoubtedly, unquestionably, unexpectedly, unconditionally 無疑地

as…as 如同 – The car is as expensive as a house -some idioms- as blind as a bat (蝙蝠) as busy as a bee as happy as a lark (百靈鳥) as hungry as a bear as quiet as a mouse as stubborn as a mule (騾) as sick as a dog as weak as a kitten as bold as a lion

Comparative – Russia is bigger than China. – He is always more fortunate than I am. Superlative – Russia is the biggest country in the world. – He is the most fortunate person in our class.
