It’s not just another funding programme! This is part of the countdown to Inspired Facilities and YOU are a very important part of creating an Olympic Legacy SE want to “touch and reach” as many communities across England to help connect them to 2012 and create a lasting legacy

Overview of the Programme £50 million lottery capital investment Organised into 5 funding rounds with up to £10 million being awarded per round Two rounds in 2012 and two rounds in 2013 Up to 70% of the funding available for community & voluntary sector projects (which includes parish and town councils) Up to 30% of the funding available for Local Authority and other statutory bodies such as schools and education establishments

Key Features - Funding Grants to community and voluntary sector projects including Parish & Town Councils will range from £20,000 to £50,000 Grants to local authorities range from £20,000 to £150,000 (£ for £ match funding – can include in-kind and cash contributions, other statutory bodies including schools, HE, FE) One application per organisation per round Funding available as a contribution to new build projects

Key Features - Catalogue Reduces the burden on the applicant and allows Sport England to do the work for you These are grouped together in four “packages” It helps you select a facility type and come up with a budget price as easily as possible Don’t have to use catalogue prices or suppliers Catalogue does not include VAT

Inspired Facilities Round 1 Results so far: 633 applications were received in Round 1 (£10m available) largest ever number received at Sport England 350 awards made Exceptionally positive feedback about the simplified application process and support for applicants An extra £7.5m of funding was allocated as a result of the high quality of applications received

SE will give priority to… Organisations that have not received a Sport England Lottery grant of over £10,000 since 1994 Projects that are the only public sports facility in the local community Projects that offer local opportunities to people who do not currently play sport

Your application should …. Be submitted by an eligible organisation Be for a project based on a site you own, or intend to own, or lease Be the only one submitted by you in that round Consider the partner funding levels for your type of organisation For capital (ie building) works – not revenue Check your project is eligible Step 1

Your project should… Involve eligible sports Be for capital works which have not started, but be capable of work within 6 months of receiving a grant and open to the public within 18 months Focus at least partly on adults aged 16 and over Step 1 Check your project is eligible

Talk to members or users and the wider community What will keep (or get!) them involved? What is holding your club back? LAs and schools must supply strategic evidence/context e.g. published strategy of local authority How can your project remain open for years to come? Step 2 Find out what your club or community needs

Make a list of sports/activities you want to offer and at what level of competition Check the catalogue to find the items you require Take a note of the code reference number –Alternatively, work out your own costs. You may need to appoint a suitable qualified person to ensure costs are realistic and justified. Enter the codes on the application form and check VAT Step 3 Work out your project costs
