Giving Circles: What’s Now Learning Objectives Understanding Women’s Giving New trend in giving circles Why start 100 Women Who Care What works, what doesn’t, tips and tricks to successful Women’s Giving Circles

Have a Women’s Giving Circle Have it in the Development Plan Curious about it, but at this point have no plans to do it in the near future Getting to Know You Where are you with giving circles?

Why Women’s Giving Matters

Single women more likely to give and give higher amounts than male counter parts Single women are more likely than single men to give to nearly every charitable subsector Women tend to spread their giving across more organizations, while men tend to concentrate their giving Marriage has a positive impact on giving and majority of couples decide on charitable giving jointly Women volunteer more than men Women are more likely to engage in collaborative giving

Benefits of Giving Circles 1. Engage residents in philanthropy 2. Create or renew donor relationships 3. Provide funding to charitable causes 4. Establish endowments to meet future needs of community

Planned & Deferred Givers Major Givers Annual/Recurrent Givers Occasional Givers/Event Participants

Lifetime Value of a Donor Donor Retention rate = 46% That means on average, nonprofits are losing 54% of their donors Over last 10 years, donor retention rates average below 50% Need to be: cost-effective, goal- oriented, growth-focused

Children and their families come to the ranch to help care for and interact with the horses in a loving environment in order to nurture healing and growth for both horse and person. A grant to Achaius Ranch was given to support a summer intern to expand the training given to children and families in caring for and interacting with the horses. Achaius Ranch provides refuge for neglected, abused, and unwanted horses.
