OCTE Priorities Update 1.Advocacy related to rigorous and relevant CTE programs of study that align with regional and state needs. 2.Expansion of work-based learning opportunities for all students. 3.Professional learning and support for teachers and administrators that enhances CTE and promotes project based learning. 4.Revision of Career Ready Measures to align with regional and state economic sectors. 5.Promotion of co-curricular integration of activities related to Career and Technical Student Organizations.

KOSSA and Industry Certifications Valid Industry Certification and KOSSA List is available on the KOSSA webpage Valid Industry Certification and KOSSA List Industry certifications must meet specific criteria as identified on the list There are some specific notes related to pathway and assessment changes Data will be collected on preparatory seniors (completed 2 and enrolled in 3 or more credits in a pathway)

E-SESS – KOSSA Online An Online sample test is available allowing students to become familiar with the online environment and ensure system performance for your school prior to the testing window E-SESS platform provides smooth testing and detailed reports Schools need to do a better job using the data Information on using reports will be covered in KOSSA Update Session Tuesday at 10:00

KOSSA Registration/Testing Registration will occur through TEDS –Data entry deadline is critical since student registration will be uploaded to the online system at the state level January 15 – All Preparatory Students must be identified in TEDS Students not identified in TEDS as Preparatory at this time will not be able to test February 1 – March 31 – KOSSA Online Testing window
