Page 2 Child Friendly Technology (CFT) Framework serves as a do-it- yourself guide for technology for education initiatives  Provides guidance and assistance to UNICEF Country Offices (COs) to incorporate innovative technologies into education projects  A paper tool specifically designed for use by COs and partners interested in addressing educational needs  Helps COs to determine whether new technology should be introduced, how to sustain usage and who to approach for implementation (partners) Child Friendly Technology (CFT) Framework OVERALL

Examination of appropriate technology that takes needs for youth and children with disabilities into account 2 3 Integration of people with disabilities groups / communities into the planning process

Page 7 Next Steps  Test first prototype version in UNICEF Country Offices of Uganda by April 2012  Ensure that people with disabilities will already take part to the first part of the testing  Treat each UNICEF CO engagement as a mini pilot of the CFT Framework  Analyze each UNICEF CO experience and integrate findings  Package this into programme guidance
