Textbook Affordability and OER National data suggest textbook costs have a real impact on student success, for example: 60% of students report not buying textbooks due to cost and 23% regularly don’t buy them 35% of students take fewer courses because of textbook costs UI is interested in reducing costs for students wherever possible, including: Choosing low cost books and/or library owned e-books Adopting or creating ‘open’ textbooks
