When the Northern Pike mother lays her eggs, the eggs will hatch. After 1 year passes the babies will become adults.

The Classification of Northern PIKE Did you know that Northern Pike is in the fish group? Well almost every fish has fins. They also have gills to get oxygen from the water. They also live in water to swim. They also lay eggs in the water. They lay about thousands eggs each time!

The Habitat of Northern Pike Do you know where the Northern Pike habitat is? Read this part of my presentation to find out where the Northern Pike lives. You can find the Northern Pike in Northern North America, most of Europe and Northern Asia too!

Interesting Facts About Northern Pike Do you know northern pike is the most widest species of freshwater fish. A northern pike can lay up to a thousand eggs. They can catch small mammals such as rats and mice. They also catch water birds. A northern pike mouth is filled with razor-sharp teeth! The northern pike is a powerful predator. A female pike is much larger then a male pike. The northern pike has a snout that look like a bill of a duck.

Prey Did you know the Northern Pike eats mainly fish? They also eat all insects and worms. But the Northern Pike eats some plants every day. They eat clams, but when they find clams with nothing inside, they don’t eat the clams. They eat them when there is meat inside. They also eat some snails. The pikes feed on crustaceans and insect larvae. If the pike is bigger, it feeds on fish, newts, and tadpoles!

Predator  Did you know that most people eat the Northern Pike? They eat the Northern Pike because the Northern Pike is in the fish family. Even other fishs eat the Northern Pike because usally other fish finds fish in the sea. The sharks also eat Northern Pike because the sharks diet is fish and the Northern Pike is a fish. Some jellyfishs eat the Northern Pike when the Northern Pike dies. Butterfly fish also eat the Northern Pike because the Northern Pike eats the butterfly fish too.

The Circle of Life Did you know the Northern Pike hatches in the spring after the ice breaks? When they are hatched, there mother looks for more eggs in sea caves. After they have a new baby their youngs start to separate the family. They find eggs and when they are big they come back to a family. Then it happen over and over again.
