Whitney Houston's death under investigation

Officials are seeking to determine a cause of death for singer Whitney Houston. An autopsy was begun Sunday, but results are being withheld. Toxicology tests are likely to take some time. The coroner said Houston was found in the bathtub of her hotel room. Houston, who became a pop sensation in the 1980s with a debut album that became a global hit, had battled personal demons including alcohol, pills and cocaine.

In Other News President Barack Obama will reveal his 2013 budget proposal today. While the White House and Democrats are advocating a balanced approach to economic growth -- including spending cuts, increased tax revenue and investments in rebuilding infrastructure such as highways and bridges, Republicans will argue for deeper spending cuts and lower tax rates. Both sides contend that their positions will bring the economic growth needed to stimulate significant reductions in the federal deficit and rising national debt. Adele won six Grammy awards Sunday night. A sharp increase in the price of North Sea oil helped drive U.S. gasoline prices up about 12 cents a gallon since late January. The jump is being blamed on reduced production from North Sea platforms, tensions among Iran, its Persian Gulf neighbors and Western powers and a dispute between Sudan and newly independent South Sudan that has cut off southern oil from global markets.
