Hosted Exchange integration Windows Server Essentials Experience provides a Hosted add-in framework Designed to help hosted providers to develop an add-in that can integrate their hosted services into Essentials Greatly simplifies the development of a custom add-in Provides a set of built-in standard UI extensions for integrated management Also provides flexibility for hosters to create their own integration experiences Provides a built-in provider that implements the business logic For example, one of the services offered is a password sync service Defines a standard adaptor interface where hosters can provide the logic to connect the built-in provider with their own hosting services

Hosted Exchange add-in architecture The framework consists of 3 layers: ‐ User interface (UI) ‐ Business logic ‐ Data operations The UI layer provides a generic, customizable experience for hosted integration The business logic layer implements key logic that the UI layer needs At the data operation layer, a custom add-in must provide two components: ‐ An adaptor that implements the key data communication logic ‐ An add-in configuration file
