Parameter Definition Controls configuration Allows for flexibility Provides hierarchical settings from user to package Package levels should never be changed

Level Definition System levels set the parameter for all users Program checks for user level If set, takes value and quits If not set, goes to next highest setting Quits when it finds a value, up to package

Setting Parameters Most are set using EHR Options Site managers (and often CACs) can get to parameters using the General Parameter Tools option

BEH Menu to set parameters The BEH menu came with the EHR version 1.1 Placed many parameters in menus rather than searching through the general parameters tool May be easier for non-EHR experienced personnel

May be one or more of the following values: C = Chronic med status E = Expiration date F = Last fill date I = Issue date M = Medication name N = Rx # P = Provider name R = Refills remaining S = Status To reverse the collation order, use the lowercase equivalent.
