Establish and implement national uniform safety and integrity standards Industry self-regulation through bi-annual racetrack Accreditation Not unlike Joint Commissioner’s International for health care industry Safety & Integrity Alliance - WHAT? 3

Alliance Code of Standards – –Updated annually Industry submissions (RCI Model Rules) Observed Best Practices –Advisory Board: NTRA, BC, TJC, Jockeys’ Guild, AAEP, HBPA, THA, RMTC, ARCI, KHRC, TOBA Today’s ‘Best Practices’ are tomorrow’s minimum standards. Safety & Integrity Alliance - HOW? 4

1.Injury reporting and prevention 2.Creating a safer racing and training environment 3.Uniform medication, testing, and penalties 4.Safety and health of jockeys 5.Aftercare and transition of retired racehorses 6.Wagering security Code of Standards 5

Full Accreditation Substantially meets or exceeds all standards set forth in the Code. Provisional Accreditation Meets most standards set forth in the Code with set period of time to resolve deficiencies. Proven, effective tool to advocate regulatory change and/or adoption of “house” rules. Safety & Integrity Alliance - HOW? 6

7 The Accreditation Report:

Racetrack management typically assembles application with assistance of numerous local stakeholders. Full Accreditation can only be achieved when everyone is pulling together: Racetrack management Horsemen Jockey Colony Regulator, Racing Commission Veterinarians Accreditation is not just for the well-funded. Lockton Insurance has partnered with the NTRA to lower racetracks’ total cost of risk, and reward tracks with a discount for implementing best practices in areas that impact equine safety and operational integrity. 14 Insurance Savings at Accredited Racetracks
