 What are Quality Review Measures (QRM) and who needs to use them?  Where do we find the QRM?  How do we use the QRM?  What is included in the QRM?

 Original QRM developed in Aligned with 10 Vision Themes of the 2020 Vision for Career and Technology Education (CATE) in South Carolina  Designed to provide guidance and direction in establishing, maintaining, and evaluating CATE programs in districts and schools/centers  EEDA components added in 2005; Revised in 2013 to bridge current CATE program quality elements with state/federal compliance and accountability

 An annual self-evaluation of CATE programs using the QRM is required for all LEAs that receive state and federal CATE funds (Local Plan Assurances)  QRM help teachers and administrators analyze program effectiveness, take corrective actions, and identify exceptional CATE programs and activities  QRM help ensure accountability for the uses of state and federal funds to improve CATE programs and CATE student performance  A copy of the completed QRM evaluation and results will be requested during scheduled on-site monitoring visits conducted by the OCTE

 CATE Coordinator/Director should lead the annual evaluation process to ensure appropriate individuals complete the applicable QRM sections  Allow time in the review schedule for all QRM components to be completed and returned to the CATE Coordinator/Director for evaluation and determination of where improvement is needed  Discuss the results and recommendations among the QRM review participants and with the CATE Advisory Council and Superintendent for support in implementing needed action

 Section A—School District Administration  Completed by District/MDCC CATE Administrators  Section B—High School/Career Center Administration  Completed by High School/Career Center Administrators  Section C—Student Services  Completed by Guidance, Career Development, Placement Personnel  Section D—Curriculum and Instruction  Completed by CATE Teachers

 Measures applicable to each component  Evidence that can be used as documentation to support each Measure  The Evidence examples for selected Measures are intended to illuminate strengths and where potential problems may exist (if limited or no evidence)

 See Handout – Print Copy (Reissued 2015)  Sampling of QRM Measures and Examples of Evidence  Share Your Experiences with the QRM  Ask Any Questions You May Have Today
