Hazards and risks Risk of overturning the Goupil on a slope Risk of being trapped whilst using the power lift to raise the cargo box Persons authorised to use the Goupil All staff operating the Goupil must receive a toolbox talk on this procedure on a regular basis. A list all persons who are authorised to use the Goupil is maintained by the Grounds Officer and displayed at Bedford Road and Balgownie.

Operation of the Goupil General Do not use the vehicle on grassy slopes. The electric brake system should be on the appropriate setting for the conditions: - Powerful electric brake (loaded vehicle) - Low electric brake (standard position) - No assist (snow position) Seat belts to be worn at all times when driving.
Operation of the cargo box power lift: The vehicle must be stationary and the parking brake applied. Operate on level ground only. Operate from the driver’s seat only. Never drive the vehicle with the cargo box in the raised position. Never touch any hydraulic hoses (use a piece of paper or cardboard to check for leaks if needed). Distribute loads evenly in the cargo box.
operation of the cargo box power lift (continued): When carrying out any inspection work under the raised cargo bed, the safety lock must be in place. The max weight of any loads placed in the cargo box is 600kg. Safety lock not in place for cargo box Safety lock in place for cargo box
