Battle of Lake Erie: (1813) Americans capture ships at Lake Erie, then move north to defeat British soldiers & Native American warriors in Canada.

British invade Washington D.C. In 1814, the British captured the capital & burned the White House.

Battle of New Orleans: (1815) General Andrew Jackson defeated a British invasion force at New Orleans becoming a war hero. This battle was fought after the treaty ending the war had been signed.

War comes to an end: Treaty of Ghent:Treaty of Ghent: In Dec. 1814, peace was signed between the U.S. & England.
