What is TestNav? Pearson’s Online Test Delivery Engine Students can access TestNav from a desktop, laptop, tablet or Chromebook. Student devices are secured and locked down, no other applications are accessible during testing. Test content is encrypted before transferred across the internet.

TestNav 8 Features TestNav 8 supports Chromebooks and tablets without the need for a 3 rd party solution Flash is not required QTI-compliant HTML-5 is more accessible and transferable Assistive Technology and WCAG focused development Offers online and accessibility tools Layout and navigation Mobile first design More space for assets and content Navigation and tools at the top of the screen

Features and Functionality Accessibility tools and accommodations. Text-to- speech, magnifying and zoom capabilities, color-contrast, etc. make online testing accessible to more students. Industry standard calculators. Embedded TI calculators provide consistency with what students use in the classroom. Embedded Text-to-speech feature. High-quality voice feature included within the test engine, eliminates the need for schools to download special software.

Accessing TestNav Browser-based TestNav - Desktops and Laptops a.Choose your browser from the supported browsers in browser-based specific requirements. b.Review and implement all other browser-based specific requirements. c.Run SystemCheck on all computers. Installable TestNav iPads, Android tablets, Chromebooks a.Run SystemCheck on each device to confirm minimum requirements. b.Download the app for each device from the App Store for the device. c.Make sure content filters are configured to allow access to Pearson URLs. Accessing TestNav – Support Pages The TestNav 8 Support pages provides information and instruction for preparing your environment and installing TestNav for Android Devices, Chromebooks, iPads, and the new TestNav Desktop. You can also find information on setting up Proctor Caching and Troubleshooting tips for support during testing.

Item Samplers for Minnesota Item samplers are available to familiarize students with the format of the test. Online item samplers are available in both secure and non-secure formats. Content is the same across both formats. – Non-secure item samplers can be accessed via a link on the PearsonAccess landing page. – Secure item samplers are available within the PearsonAccess training site and are accessed via TestNav.

Secure Item Samplers

Simulate the real testing experience for students and districts. Item Samplers are accessed via TestNav – all the tools, accommodations, and security of live testing. District users will need to provide student authorization tickets to students from PearsonAccess.
