Also, from 2001, until her death, she served in the Italian Senate as a Senator for Life. Rita Levi-Montalcini had been the oldest living Nobel laureate and the first ever to reach a 100th birthday. On 22 April 2009, she was feted with a 100th birthday party at Rome's city hall.

LEONARDO DA VINCI

Leonardo da Vinci 15/4/1452 – +2/5/1519, was an Italian Renaissance polymath: painter, sculptor, architect, musician, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, cartographer, botanists, and writer. His genius, perhaps more than that of any other figure, epitomized the Renaissance humanist ideal. Leonardo has often been described as the archetype of the Renaissance Man, a man of "unquenchable curiosity" and "feverishly inventive imagination"

Ultima Cena

Mona Lisa

Renaissance humanism recognized no mutually exclusive polarities between the sciences and the arts, and “Leonardo's studies” in science and engineering are as impressive and innovative as his artistic work Da Vinci Vitruve

SAN FRANCESCO D’ASSISI Dress of St. Francis

San Francesco d’ Assisi, born Giovanni di Pietro di Bernardone, nicknamed Francesco by his father, (1181/1182 – +3/10/1226) was an Italian Catholic friar and preacher. He founded the men's Order of Friars Minor, the women’s Order of St. Clare, and the Third Order of Saint Francis for men and women. Though he was never ordained to the Catholic priesthood, Francesco is one of the most venerated religious figures in history

The compassion that inspired him for the weak, the outcasts, the sick, would be transformed into a real "fever of love" to the next. For a time he stood alone, busy repairing some ruined churches, such as the Portiuncula

VALENTINO ROSSI

Among the most titled of motorcycle riders by virtue of the nine titles won, is the only rider in history to have won the World Championship the iris into four different classes: 125 (1), 250 (1), 500 (1) and MotoGP (6). It also holds the largest number of Grands Prix in a row in the speed world, with 228 appearances

He is the son of Graziano Rossi, in turn motorcycle racer at the turn of the seventies and eighties; Valentino has always used the number 46 in the race for his bike, the same as previously used in the World Championship by his father Graziano.

Luciano Pavarotti Giuseppe Verdi

“Big Luciano” Luciano Pavarotti was born in 1935 on the outskirts of Modena in Northern Italy. He was an Italian operatic tenor who also crossed over into popular music, eventually becoming one of the most commercially successful tenors of all time. As one of the Three Tenors, Pavarotti became well known for his televised concerts and media appearances. From the beginning of his professional career as a tenor in 1961 in Italy to his final performance of "Nessun dorma" at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin

Giuseppe Verdi Giuseppe Verdi was an Italian Romanic composer known for his operas. His works are frequently performed in opera houses throughout the world. Some of his themes have long since taken root in popular culture, as "La donna è mobile" from Rigoletto, "Libiamo ne' lieti calici" (The Drinking Song) from La Traviata, “Va Pensiero" (The Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves) from Nabucco, the "Coro di zingari" (Anvil Chorus) from Il trovatore and the "Grand March" from Aida.
