2 California Modified Assessment (CMA) Field Tests Administered between September 14 and 18 to students in the following grades: –Grades 9–12 to CMA eligible students for the Algebra I multiple-choice field tests –Grade 10 to CMA eligible students for the English–language arts multiple-choice field tests –Grade 11 to CMA eligible students for the Life Science multiple-choice field tests August STAR CMA Field Test
Pre-ID Field-test Pre-ID labels created based on 2009 CST/ CMA data –Grade is assumed to have changed –If the student has left the district do not use. Return with nonscorables. –If the student has transferred to a new school in the district, send the label to the new school. –If any demographic information has changed for the student, you may still use the original label. Mark any changes to the demographics on the or answer document. –Labels to be placed in the box labeled “Place demographic Bar Code Information inside the dashed lines” on the front of the answer document. Questions About Materials How will the materials be packaged? –Test booklets and answer documents will be sent to school districts in separate shrink-wrapped packages of fives and as singles. –One Directions for Administration (DFA) is included with every package of multiple-choice test booklets. –The CST/CMA District and Test Site Field Test Coordinator Manual will be packaged separately and shipped to the school district for distribution to test sites. Questions About Materials Can we review the manuals for the field test ahead of time? –Coordinator Manuals and DFAs will be included in the shipment of materials. PDF versions of the Coordinator Manual and the DFAs will be made available to school districts on request and will also be posted at cma.html. August STAR CMA Field Test
Questions About Materials When will the field test materials arrive in the school district? –Field test materials will be delivered to school districts before or during the week of August 31, Where will materials be shipped? –Materials will be shipped to the primary shipping address that is current in the 2009 STAR Management System Web site as of August 15, You can view and edit this address by logging in to the STAR Management System and selecting the Maintain/Update Profile link in the left navigation bar. Questions About Materials How can I order additional test materials? –The test site will receive an overage of approximately 10 percent of test booklets and answer documents. The school district will not receive an overage. If a test site in your school district requires additional test booklets or any other materials, please contact the STAR Technical Assistance Center at When should the school district return materials? –The test site should return materials to the school district the day after testing is completed.
