THE LEADER OF THE WAR? THE HEAD OF THE WAR [THE CIVIL WAR] WAS MR.ABERHAM LINCOLN WHICH WAS ASSASANATED,OR MURDERED BY JOHN WILKES BOOTH. BOOTH SUPPORTED THE CONFEDERACY.LINCOLNES DEATH SHOCKED THE NATION. Before Lincoln was killed, he had started to make plans for the reconstruction, or rebuilding, of the nation. Lincoln wanted to bring the nation back together quickly! He didn’t want to punish the people of the south. After Lincolns death, Andrew Johnson became president. Mr. Johnson to wanted to safe the nation.

When did it began?  The civil war began in the major battle of the civil war was the battle of the bull run near Manassas junction, Virginia. It was a long battle, but the confederacy finally won. People soon understood that the war would last longer than they thought.in September 1862,the confederates marched into the north. They were met by union faces in Antietam in Maryland. More soldiers died in the battle of Antietam than on any other day during the war The confederates were forced back into Virginia.

THE WEAPONS USED DURING THE WAR DURIN THE WAR THEY USED A RIFLE,LEAD MUSKET BALL,AND A MINIE BALL WITH BLACK POWDER.

WHEN DID THE CIVIL WAR END? In 1864 and 1867,the union army kept winning battles. William Tecumseh Sherman and his army marched across the south to the sea. They destroyed land and property.in April 1865, union soldiers took over Richmond, the confederate capital. General lees army was starving and out numbered. On April 9, 1865,General Lee surrendered to general grant in the Virginia village of Appomattox court house. Soon, other confederate generals gave up. After four years which was in 1869 the civil war was over.
