1) UNA DESCRIPCIÓN DE UNA PROFESIÓN Pick a profession listed in chapter 2 vocabulary. Describe (en español) what a person in that profession does [2 detailed sentences]. Describe (en español) what physical characteristics or personality characteristics are needed for that job AND why.  Description of job (2 sentences)  Description of a person (2)  Why the person needs a certain set of characteristics.  Include a visual representation of the profession.

NOTES ON THE ROUGH DRAFT Sentences must have a conjugated verb that matches the subject. The subject is “a” person or the group as a whole.  there is no specific person or gender Why the person needs a certain set of characteristics. (if there are 2 descriptions, there are two reasons!) Use personal “a” What verb goes with descriptions? ser or estar? Order of adjectives and nouns Use punctuation! Circled blank spaces mean something is missing - “has to”  Description of job (2 sentences)  Description of a person (2)  Why the person needs a certain set of characteristics. (if there are 2 descriptions, there are two reasons!)

NOTES ON THE ROUGH DRAFT BECAUSE It is not a good way to start a sentence, as it is a compound sentence and complex. Lawyers must be smart. Lawyers are ruthless. Because they have to memorize a lot of laws. Because what? Where’s the rest of this thought/idea? Lawyers must be smart because they have to memorize a lot of laws. Lawyers are ruthless because they a paid to get their way (on behalf of the client).

2) UNA ENCUESTA (SURVEY) Survey 30 classmates at school as to what profession they would prefer to be. Compile the data into a type of graph of your choosing (pie, line, bar, etc.).  All labels on the graph (title of the graph, title of the job, etc.) must be in SPANISH  The graph must be in color and printed from a computer.  Have a list of professions (in English) from your vocabulary list to show your survey participants.  Lawyer, engineer, policeman, journalist, computer programmer, social worker, medical (dentist, nurse, doctor), fireman, cook, merchant, banker, carpenter, mailman, driver, mechanic

 Assemble your written information and graph on project paper. Pencil, pen, visible tape, staples, untidy glue, and printer paper are not acceptable for a project.  We will complete the graph in class so all students may have it printed as well as have the written portion typed. In the event this does not occur all portions of the project can easily be done by hand, with neat writing. (AT HOME)
