The Montessori said that "the ability of abstraction arises from the concrete experience of ideas and concepts that form the culture and the development of intelligence." ABSTRACTION PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE OF IDEAS IT NOTIONS DEVELOPMENT OF INTELLIGENCE TRAINING OF CULTURE

It 'a prejudice that the mathematical abstractions are difficult to understand and grasped by the child, because in him there is any human power. The child has the opportunity to develop them, implement them, produce them in place through the experience that environment. The same Piaget asserted that in an environment full of stimulating objects, children progress faster than others, in fact, thanks to the abstract concrete experiences according to the ways of the mind and pace their learning. The Montessori materials for the development of the mathematical mind offers the experience of "first-hand" real and unique, necessary abstraction that helps to overcome the varying degrees of knowledge.

Awareness of the concept of quantity Conceptualization of hierarchy and abstraction DEVELOPMENT PLANS OF THE MIND MATHEMATICS Acquisition of the knowledge

Development plans of the mind according to math Motessori are three: 1 - The child acquires the awareness of the concept of quantity. The knowledge of symbols that represent the quantity. This first plane is parallel to of language. 2 - The child acquires knowledge of the laws that govern dal'uomo invented the symbols for the quantity, ie the numbers. The human mind has set a standard and an Order. The "Norma" is a magic key that opens the world of infinite numbers: "The system decimal ". "The decimal system" consists in the knowledge of the numbers from 1 to 9 and the child is able to dial any number with a simple exercise in nomenclature. An indispensable aid is given by the scientific material that contains the "law of the system decimal "the results of which are: DEVELOPMENT OF INTELLIGENCE CAPACITY 'ABSTRACTION PASSAGE OF ARITHMETIC HIERARCHY 3 - On the concept of "hierarchy" is based mathematics training of the mind, as the Quantity is physically represented by the color that indicates the value of the digit. The child at this point is led towards an abstraction higher. With the material for the teaching of mathematics relative to the pre - elementary, ranging from three to six years, we intend to offer a way to access to the mechanisms and laws that underlie the use of the metric system.
