Eid ul-Fitr عيد الفطر ‘ Ī du l-Fi ṭ r ‎ Arabic for “Festivity”

EID – A Muslim Holiday  EID – is the end of the holy month of fasting. This happens from sun up to sun down.

Fasting  Fasting – Muslims choose not to eat, drink, watch TV, or listen to music to honor their God (Allah) during the month of Ramadan. (The Holy Month) This is meant to feel how the poor people are without food or water.

Completing the fast  Muslims have a meal to give thanks to their God after the month of fasting is over with their families.

Celebration  Family meals, eating sweet foods, wearing new clothes, giving gifts or money to children are ways to celebrate EID.
