Religious Life Promoter in NOV sponsored by CoR May 2013

A full member of the National Office for Vocation team, promoting the culture of vocation as an expression of the universal call to holiness, seeking to implement the National Vocations Framework. “Promoting discernment not recruitment”

National Vocations Framework  Taking to a new level the culture of vocation that has been developing in recent years The desired outcome is for more people to be actively discerning how to respond to the call of Christ  The Framework invites those who have been called to call others  3 key aims over 3 years: Understanding vocation, Communicating vocation, Discerning vocation  Within each aim there are objectives that can be put into practice by parishes and dioceses, religious congregations and movements in their own way  Some Catholic communities have already devised their own action plans

Some examples of how NOV is addressing the 3 key aims Understanding Vocation

Communicating Vocation

Discerning Vocation  Help people to set up discernment groups  Develop a network of spiritual guides for discernment

CoR statistics: Growth in numbers entering religious life NB. This doesn’t include enclosed sisters or congregations which are not members of CoR
