* Type: people * Title of picture: roc * Camera: Canon EOS 40D * Lens: EF 80 mm * ISO: 100 * f/7.1 * Flash: no * Reason for taking picture: this picture wasn’t as planned as it looks. Before taking this is said “smile!” and of course being the 4 year old he is, he does the exact opposite.

* Type: action * Title of picture: Dalton * Camera: Canon EOS 40D * Lens: EF 80 mm * ISO: 100 * f/2 * Flash: no * Reason for taking picture: my brother, Dalton, was practicing for his punt, pass, and kick competition so I decided to take a couple pictures of him practicing.

* Type: people * Title of picture: Sister love * Camera: Canon EOS 40D * Lens: EF 80 mm * ISO:100 * f/7.1 * Flash: no * Reason for taking picture: my friend, Elizabeth, and her sister don’t get pictures often so one day we went out to my grandparents and took many pictures

* Type: people * Title of picture: * Camera: Canon EOS 40D * Lens: EF 80 mm * ISO: 100 * f/10 * Flash: no * Reason for taking picture: my little cousin was looking at the cows and I thought it was a perfect time to take a pictures because of all the leading lines

* Type: people * Title of picture: pondering * Camera: Canon EOS 40D * Lens: EF 80 mm * ISO:100 * f/5,6 * Flash: no * Reason for taking picture: I thought it would be cool to take a picture from behind the main focus, to see what he’s looking at

* Type: portrait * Title of picture: Nikki’s pose * Camera: Canon EOS 40D * Lens: EF 80 mm * ISO: 400 * f/4 * Flash: yes * Reason for taking picture: I took this picture in class while practicing take portraits

* Type: action * Title of picture: hula-hoop * Camera: Canon EOS 40D * Lens: EF 80 mm * ISO:1600 * f/5.6 * Flash: yes * Reason for taking picture: I took this during class while we were practicing taking action photography

* I think the best image in category is the one of my little cousin, “Roc”. I think this is a good photo because of many reasons. The rule of thirds is used well, placing his head more on the left side of the picture, instead of in the middle. Also, using the sky as the background worked out very well because of the cloudy day, it leaves you to only focus on his face. It exaggerates on his facial expression and shows his true personality. I had my camera set on portrait mode so most of the adjustments were automatic, I just adjusted ISO. * The picture that has the most meaning was the one I labeled “pondering”. This has a lot of meaning I think because of the perspective it is taken in. It lets you see what he sees. I also think the way his shoulders are at more of a slump, makes you wondering what he’s thinking about. * I liked taking portrait and candid pictures because I think they are more fun. I also like it because you could just tell the person how you wanted them to pose or what you wanted them to do in order to take the pictures. You can also give these pictures to people as gifts, which is always a plus!

* Type: nature * Title of picture: yellow * Camera: Canon EOS 40D * Lens: EF 80 mm * ISO: 100 * f/3.5 * Flash: no * Reason for taking picture: I thought this flower was very pretty because it can be see it from many different angles because there are more than one

* Type: nature * Title of picture: pink * Camera: Canon EOS 40D * Lens: EF 80 mm * ISO:100 * f/7.1 * Flash: no * Reason for taking picture: I took this picture in the garden at my house and I thought my mom would like a picture of the flowers she’s growing because they turned out to be very pretty

* Type: nature * Title of picture: orange * Camera: Canon EOS 40D * Lens: EF 80 mm * ISO: 100 * f/2.8 * Flash: no * Reason for taking picture: I took this picture because I really like the repetition

* Type: nature * Title of picture: rose * Camera: Canon EOS 40D * Lens: EF 80 mm * ISO:100 * f/5.6 * Flash: no * Reason for taking picture: I think this picture is really cool because of the fact that the rose is dead and also everything behind it is blurred out so your main focus is the rose. The blurred lines can also be used as leading lines

* Type: nature * Title of picture: cat tail * Camera: Canon EOS 40D * Lens: EF 80 mm * ISO: 100 * f/5.6 * Flash: no * Reason for taking picture: I took this picture because I like how it looks like it has a 3D effect because of the way the flower is positioned

* I think the best image in my nature category is “orange”. This one is good because it uses many elements. One element it contains is repetition. This is used very well in this picture because of the way the flowers seem to go on forever. Also shows depth of field because of how the front flowers are in focus and it blurs as it goes back. * I think the picture with the most meaning would be “rose”. This has meaning because of the way the rose is dead. Also, the rose is the only thing in focus, there’s a lot of emphasis. Even though the background is blurred, the wood boards can still be used as leading lines. * I likes taking these pictures because they are so beautiful and there is such wonderful colors within the flowers that it makes you feel like you’re there.

* Type: architecture * Title of picture: bench * Camera: Canon EOS 40D * Lens: EF 80 mm * ISO: 500 * f/ 4.5 * Flash: no * Reason for taking picture: I took this because I thought this bench was very pretty and unique.

* Type: architecture * Title of picture: horseshoe * Camera: Canon EOS 40D * Lens: EF 80 mm * ISO:400 * f/4 * Flash: yes * Reason for taking picture: I took this because I thought it was very artsy and could turn out very cool!

* My favorite picture in this category is “horseshoe”. This picture shows great depth of field because of the way there are some in focus and others are blurred. There are also leading lines, the board under the horse shoes helps you to focus on the shoes. Using hay as the background was a good decision because it’s not very distracting from the main subject. * The most meaningful picture is “bench”. This has a lot of meaning to it because is makes you think and wonder. You put your own meaning to it and what you think it means. It makes you wonder what is going on. * I wasn’t a huge fan of taking these pictures because I think they are more boring than the portraits or nature. If they turn out good then they are pretty but its harder to get a good picture.

* Type: animal * Title of picture: cowboy * Camera: Canon EOS 40D * Lens: EF 80 mm * ISO:400 * f/4.5 * Flash: no * Reason for taking picture: I took this because I think he was sitting in a great pose and it was a great opportunity

* Type: animal * Title of picture:162 * Camera: Canon EOS 40D * Lens: EF 80 mm * ISO:100 * f/2 * Flash: no * Reason for taking picture: well my favorite animal is a cow and no cow has ever walked up to me before like this one so I thought it would be cool to take a picture

* Type: animal * Title of picture: grey kitty * Camera: Canon EOS 40D * Lens: EF 80 mm * ISO:400 * f/1.8 * Flash: no * Reason for taking picture: this cat is usually always hiding in the hay and recently we’ve been visiting a lot so he is starting to warm up to certain people, so I thought it was cool he didn’t run away from me

* Type: animal * Title of picture: smile! * Camera: Canon EOS 40D * Lens: EF 80 mm * ISO:100 * f/3 * Flash: no * Reason for taking picture: I took this because it looks like the dog is smiling

* Type: animal * Title of picture: mothers protection * Camera: Canon EOS 40D * Lens: EF 80 mm * ISO:100 * f/5 * Flash: no * Reason for taking picture: I took this because I thought it was cute that the baby calf never left the momma cows side

* My favorite picture is “cowboy”. This is my favorite mainly because of the dog himself. He has such a sweet caring personality and you can tell that my looking at this photo. The rule of thirds used here by placing his head more towards the left side. It’s also good because he isn’t looking straight at the camera, he is looking more off into the distance. Also the background is blurred and there isn’t much going on besides the subject. * The most meaningful picture is “mother’s protection”. This has meaning because of the way the baby calf never left the mama’s side no matter what. He would follow her around everywhere she went and she would protect him if anyone came close. * I liked taking these pictures because if they were good they turned out so cute, but they were hard to take because the animals would move if they heard a sound or they wouldn’t look at the camera.
