Hello my name is Emily, I am a 12 years old and I'm a student at United Elementary and I'm in sixth grade. My teacher is Mrs. Tedeschi. I play soccer and I do dance and baton. I show animals at the fair and I'm going to try to show a horse this year. I'm also going to show pigs and lambs which is fun. Introduction

 Fall is…  My dog, Sasha Journal Entries

Sometimes my brother and I rake leaves then we jump in the piles. I also make lots of hot chocolate because it keeps me warm. During the school year we shop for winter jackets. I also hunt with my dad and brother when it`s hunting season. During Thanksgiving my family and I go to my grandma`s house and see our relatives. We also have a dinner. During fall we decorate and get a bunch of candy. We usually see haunted houses. We go and buy pumpkins to carve. I like it when we watch soccer, football, movies and tv. We go to church every Sunday. When it`s Halloween we get costumes, candy, decorate, see haunted houses, carve pumpkins, drink apple cider, make crafts, go to a Halloween party, and see jack-o-lanterns and leaves that fall off the trees and they`re so pretty. During the fall we have to harvest corn and beans. When it snows my family and I go sled riding and have snow ball fights. Usually the drive is icy. I love to dance so I do that on my free time and play board games. My favorite breakfast in fall is pancakes. Fall is…

I have a dog named Sasha. She is a Chihuahua mixed with a Yorkie. My brother and I came up with the name from the book finding Zasha but Zasha is pronounced Sasha (the name is German, I think). When she was younger she was white with black. My mom clipped her hair, then she was GRAY and white! Finally her hair was turning back to black and white but not all the way yet. If you saw her picture online you would think we got a different dog. But we love her. She is My Dog, Sasha

Crazy though. When we got her my mom and my aunt went because I was at 4-h, but when I got home she was there. She was tiny, but cute. My brother and I took turns with her sleeping in our rooms. We still have her every other night. The only thing I wish she would stop doing is BARKING! When she barks it`s annoying. She loves to play. She will take her squeaker toy and squeak it herself. On Christmas this year we got her a squeaker and in 20 minutes she tore off the tail of it (and broke the squeaker). She is very loveable. When we`re sick or not feeling well she will come to me and laydown with you. She will come to me when I come home. If you play with her “beware” she will growl like she is a big dog. Sasha – pg. 2

But she is very funny. Sometimes when we are watching a movie we play with her, she gets really loud. We have to tell her to be quiet. When she was 1, she barked at pillows. Not anymore though. She likes to run after cats, a LOT! But stops. Before my cat Sophie died her and Sasha were besties. They didn`t mind each other. By the way Sasha is a girl. Sasha – pg. 3

During the year I did some reading, and I wanted to be at a level z, but the 2 nd time we did the reading for levels I made it to z. I think I now understand books better. I've grown as a reader by reading and being able to tell what happened in a book. When I read a book I like to stop at a good stopping point so it`s more exciting. I like to read adventure books and historical fiction, especially American girl. I also like the Little House Books. A Look At Me As A Reader

I think I've grown as a writer because at the beginning of the year I wrote like 1-2 paragraphs and now I`m writing 1-3 pages. I'm better at writing stories than writing persuasive papers. But I`m getting better on my persuasive because of some practice. My favorite writing is free write because I can write what I want. A Look At Me As A Writer

On My Honor is about 2 boys who are friends. The boys names are Joel and Tony. Tony wants to go swimming in a river so Joel and Tony go in and tony drowns and Joel's parents are upset. I think they shouldn`t have gone because even though Tony didn`t tell Joel he couldn`t swim they shouldn't even go in a river, I mean like what if you got trapped or stuck. Not the best idea. Tiger Rising is about a boy who always gets made fun of and he finds a tiger and this girl who just came to his school wants to let this tiger out of this cage because rob (the boy) has to feed the tiger. The girl (Sistine) ends up letting the tiger out and Rob's dad kills the tiger. I think they shouldn`t of let the tiger out and Rob's dad should have known about it, at least. The Tiger Rising

The Cay is about a boy who is on an island and they are going to move back to Virginia and Phillip the boy and his mother are on a boat going back home and Phillip goes in a raft hits his head and a man named Timothy saves him. The 2 of them end up on an island and Phillip is then blind. Timothy is old and is doing everything he can to help Phillip. But later in the book Timothy dies and Phillip is on his own, but he knows what to do. A few months later Phillip gets saved and he goes to see his parents and the doctor. He will then have glasses. I liked this book very much but I wish Timothy didn`t die, but I'm glad Phillip lived and was saved. I recommend it to anyone who likes adventure. The Cay

This is about a girl who`s name is Karana and her father and brother died because of the Aleuts and wild dogs. She is stranded on an island because her tribe left without her brother and she went back for him but her brother then died. Karana is alone and survives. I like this book because she is smart and brave. And I feel bad for her because she lost her family except her sister. Island Of The Blue Dolphins

Lawn Boy is about a boy who`s grandma gave him an old lawnmower. He started to mow lawns and his “company” started to grow. He hired over 15 people. I think the Lawn boy shouldn't of hired all of the people and buy stocks. Lawn Boy

Christmas budget project

My 6 th grade year was pretty good because our class did science experiments and had fun in class. I enjoyed Mrs. Tedeschi and Mrs. Grimm teaching us. I liked Mrs. Tedeschi reading the books. Over all I had a great year. I also did stock market which was kind of fun. I`m so excited for next year. Year in Review
