1.3 Pharmacology This manual will allow participants to explore Psychoactive Substances: Terminology, Classification of Drugs Pharmacodynamics and the Nervous System Pharmacokinetics (Absorption, Distribution, Biotransformation, Elimination, Other Key Terms) Ways to Increase Dopamine with Addicted Clients; Endorphins; GABA and its Calming Effects And even Progressive Muscle Relaxation

1.4 Managing Medication Assisted Treatment Programs In Managing Medication Assisted Treatment Programs is developed: To inform participants of treatment recommendations for patients With Substance Use Disorders To provide background information and review of available evidence for pharmacotherapies To aid in the development of practice guidelines for pharma- cotherapy services

1.5 Enhancing MI Skills This intermediate manual will: Demonstrate an understanding and openness of collaboration with client-centered “expertise”. Recognize and express proficiency in client-centered counseling, including accurate empathy. Recognize key aspects of client speech that guide the practice of MI. Discuss what motivates people to change behavior. Employ techniques to elicit change talk.

1.6 Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) At the end of this training the participants will: Recognize cognitive-behavior therapy goals and techniques; Examine the application of cognitive- behavioral techniques to substance use disorders and comorbid disorders; and Describe research on the efficacy of cognitive-behavioral interventions for substance use disorders, as well as limitations of the extant literature

1.7 Contingency Management During this manual training participants will learn: How does Contingency Management Work The Basic concepts Targeted Behaviors for CM How to aid a client toward abstinence Treatment Engagement Lifestyle Improvements

1.8 Skills for Screening Co-occurring Disorders Participants will understand: Specific Mental Disorders/Substance Induced to include Mental Disorders such as: Schizophrenia Spectrum and Other Psychotic Disorders, Bipolar and Related Disorders, Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive and Related Disorders, Trauma and Stressor- Related Disorders, Dissociative Disorders, Feeding and Eating Disorders, Disruptive, Impulse-Controls, and Conduct Disorders and others.

1.9 Intermediate Clinical Skills and Case Management- This combined workshop can be taken separately or together Participants will learn of Models of Supervision; Supervisory Development; Stages of Clinical Skill Development; Required Documentation; Ethical Development of a supervisee; Supervisory Accountability; The Importance of Using the Adult Learning Theory and How to conduct a Performance Evaluation

1.10 Part Two – Case Management While attending this training participants will be able to: Identify and describe 5 models of case management; Identify and describe 5 functional roles of the case manager; Demonstrate the ability to identify the client, aspects of the bio- psycho=social assessment, 6 potential screening tools, 4 assessment instruments, the steps of case management; And Demonstrate the ability to develop and implement appropriate documentation;

1.11 Crisis Management Skills and Practices This manual in the series will allow participants to more deeply explore: Types of Crisis and contributing crisis: Developmental, Death, Health Incidences, and Substance induced Participants will begin examining how to Prepare and Prevent Crises Examine Fear of Change Develop Coping Skills and Stress Management Skills

1.12 Clinical Supervision for SUD Professionals Through this series in the curricula, participants will develop skills to become and proficient Clinical Supervisor through: Exploring various models of supervision Examining Supervisor Development Skills Understanding the Stages of Clinical Skill development such as: Documentation and Ethical Development of a supervisee, clinical accountability Teaching Skills such as the Adult Learning Theory will also be explored

1.13 Why Intermediate UTC? To allow the progression of knowledge, skills and competence within the ICCE Addiction Professional Community To engage the ICCE participants in enhanced learning skills To expose all Intermediate Level Practitioners in the upgrading of credentials and within the profession

1.14 When will the Intermediate UTC Curricula Be Available? Role out is anticipated in the Fall of 2015.

1.15 Thank You
