PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION Main Objective To encourage and inspire each child’s learning experience by using 21 st century skills to assist them in reaching the achieved goal. Classroom Environment Inviting, relaxed and calm atmostphere Positive and encouraging Safe Assessments Teacher, inquiry and knowledge building cycle. Technology Technology is essential in teaching and learning for educators, students and parents.

CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT PLAN In a classroom setting there are two types of models. These models are teacher centered and student centered. I will focus more on the student centered model by focusing on my students needs. Students will be actively involved in the rules that they follow. This provides the student with a sense of responsibility and ownership. Organizing and executing a classroom management plan teachers are able to facilitate a constructive environment for students to learn and grow. Enforcing rules and procedures is beneficial for teachers to conduct lessons that students will advance in the future from. Classroom management sets students up early on for classroom structure and positive learning environments.

CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT PLAN Individual Planning 21 st Century Technology Unit Planning Long Range Planning

SCHOOL MODELS Differentiated Instruction “involves the way teachers respond to the different needs of learners in their classrooms. It calls on teachers to realize that the best practices work for individual learners” (Newman, 2013). In my classroom I will focus on individual learning to develop practices that help students to comprehend lessons at their learning pace. The use of 21 st century technology in daily lessons are useful for students. It engages the students individuality, responsibility, critical thinking and problem solving skills, collaboration and gives a sense of ownership.

LESSON PLANNING AND DESIGN Gather knowledge from different sources Communicate with colleague's and other educators Develop a clear learning objective with clarity, comprehensivenes. Communicate with peers and mentors through technology

The Backward Design Approach Stage One: Identify the desired results What are the anticipated results? Stage Two: Assessment Evidence The understanding of lesson materials not just knowledge Stage Three: Learning Plan What is the outcome? What will students learn? Will students reach their goals?

ASSESSMENTS MATTER Formative and Summative Assessment The value of assessment is not about the teacher but about the student and how feedback is beneficial and supportive to students in reaching their goals (Lopez, 2013, chap. 8, para 6). Formative feedback is a continuous process. Students receive feedback and work on strengths and weaknesses. Summative assessment determines the overall achievement level and is used to measure post learning and is a final statement.

“A professional learning community, or PLC, is a group of educators that meets regularly, shares expertise, and works collaboratively to improve teaching skills and the academic performance of students” (edglossary, 2014, para, 1). PLC or professional learning communities are beneficial to both the educator and the student. Collaborating with peers teachers are able to improve their skills and knowledge. By networking teachers can work on refining the skills and knowledge of their students. PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITIES
