Can you Model & Mind Map It? 8 th Grade End of Year Science Project

Purpose: To take what you learned in 8th grade science & prove what you know by developing either a working model or mind map for all three units.  Working Model  Take at least one concept from 8 th grade and make a model of it!  Model must be working/interactive (you can move or manipulate it to help learn about the concept it is showing).  Must include detailed instructions (written or typed) on how to use the model.  Mind Map  Uses pictures and/or words to show how all the information for that topic fit together.  Must be in color  May be done by hand or computer  Neatness counts! (You can either create 1 model & 2 mind maps OR 2 models & 1 mind map )

Examples of Working Models (these are not necessarily 8 th grade topics though!)

Examples of Mind Maps (these are not necessarily science related…but they are good examples!)

Unit #1: Day 1 Research/Idea Development/Begin Working!  You should be sitting with your partner for Unit #1 Project. If you are working independently, you can be sitting at your own table or with another independent worker.  No more than 2 people to a table!  If you have anything for Miss Brown’s gift basket, I will collect it in a few minutes!
