Welcome to Nice Know in advance the best way to get to your hotel Arrive with euros Be prepared to pay taxis in cash. The cost shall be around 30 Euros with normal traffic (check with the driver before starting your journey) Without traffic it takes 15 minutes from the airport to the center of Nice. In the summer, there will be much more traffic, so expect longer travel times in summer

Arrival at Acropolis It is Acropolis Congress NOT Acropolis Expositions Enter on Boulevard Risso on Convention days (center of building), Avenue Galliene early set up (staff entrance) Tram will stop close to the Acropolis, here

The photographer At previous Conventions, a professional photographer was hired. Pictures were displayed during the Convention and could be bought after Convention for 25 USD per photo. At the Nice Convention, THE PHOTOS medium-high resolution CAN BE DOWNLOADED FOR FREE. The professional photographer will upload a large amount of pictures every night and many more at the end of the Convention. Pictures can be downloaded daily and up to 4 months after Convention. The photographer can print copies of the photos, but those are not for free.

Registration Governors register as all members according to their District Please register on 1 July to avoid crowds on 2 July Hours 1 July 9am – 6 pm 2 July 7:30am – 5:30 pm

2 July am - District Meetings The meeting rooms will have door signs indicating which district

District Meetings Room package includes : chairs in theater style, one speakers top table with 2 chairs, one lectern, one video projector 3200 lumens EB 915W WXGA, one screen, two wired microphones. Cables will be VGA to VGA. Bring your adaptor if needed. Bring your laptop computer. Wifi in Gallieni rooms, but not Hermes.

MOTION FORMS - BYLAWS Each Governor will receive a packet with motion forms in the room of their District meeting. Forms on triplicate paper –White to President –Yellow to recorder –Pink for maker of motion Additional motion forms will be with monitors, who will be sited by the microphones.

PRO To make a main motion To speak on favour of a motion PROCEDURAL Point of Order – for violations of procedure Point of Parliamentary Inquiry – to check on correct procedure Request for Information –to ask a question on the pending motion Recess - to move a recess immediately Previous Question – to end the debate and to vote on the motion without further discussion. All participants receive in their bags a short instruction about parliamentarian procedures

2 July pm – Rehearsals, Training, ZIF Reception Be on time for Memorial Service rehearsal (no food in auditorium) Training sessions for the teams. –If the district committee chairman is not at the Convention, the Governor should appoint another person to participate in the training, so the district receives the training.

ZIF Reception – Terrasse Muses pm Invitations to be sent this week Location moved to Acropolis, 3 rd level – Les Muses Invitation only – participants must bring invitation Individual donors receive one ticket. –Must RSVP –May bring a registered non- Zontian guest and will pay a fee at door – 40 Euros Clubs and District participants are limited to the invitation – no additional guests

3 July – Opening Ceremony Governors will have reserved seating up front for the entire Convention Encourage everyone to be seated by 8:55 am No food or water in auditorium This will be the longest session to sit through

3 July pm – Business Session #1 Boxed lunches are in Rhodes next to Marketplace, Bright Spots Street & Zonta Store Candidates will be in reserved seating

A Note About Candidates from the Floor Shall possess the qualifications and attributes required for the position for which they are standing. A nominator (a Zontian in good standing) submits to the Chairman of the International Nominating Committee Lynn McKenzie and ) a completed Nomination Form including a photograph (optional) and candidate’s consent to serve in the office if elected and a pledge to continue to abide by the Campaigning The Nomination Form is available at If a candidate from the floor has previously submitted a Nomination Form to the Nominating Committee, the same nomination form shall be presented used. – deadline June 28 th (5 days before first business session of convention)

3 July evening - Monaco Bus departure Buses leave from road next to Novotel Arrive at 6:30 pm to check-in and board a bus Buses depart at 7:00 pm There will be 8 buses and they will be completely full

4 July – Elections, Business Session #2 The Credentials desk will only be open 7:30 – 8 am Remind delegates about the doors being closed at 8:20 and no exceptions will be made for entry

4 July – Business Session # 2 Continued Two of the ISP/ZISVAW projects will be proposed to continue. The voting members will vote after the update has been delivered.

5 July – Memorial, Bylaws, Roundtables 27 bylaw proposals, 12.8 minutes per proposal (average of previous biennia is 12 minutes per bylaw). Training sessions for the teams. If the district committee chairman is not at the Convention, the Governor should appoint another person to participate in the training, so the district receives the training.
