August 2008 Agriculture – 3 Major areas 1. Supplies and Services 2. Production Agriculture 3. Marketing and Processing

August 2008 Additional Areas 4. Ornamental Horticulture 5. Natural Resources 6. Recreation

August 2008 Additional Areas Finally… Foresty, Food Science, Companion and Service Animals

August Supplies and Service Supplies - inputs (materials and equipment needed to grow crops and livestock) Service - skilled people who assist with production

August Supplies and Service Machinery and Equipment examples: tractors, implements, etc.

August Natural Resources/ Environmental Science Two Types of Natural Resources: 1. Renewable – resources that can be replaced…but a long time may be needed. Examples: soil, water, air, wildlife

August Natural Resources/ Environmental Science Two Types of Natural Resources: 2. Nonrenewable – resources that can not be replaced. Examples: fossil fuels, minerals
