Olimp Laboratories is a well recognized dietary/food supplements manufacturer with advanced research and development unit. Despite this fact, we have constructed modern laboratories complex. The main objective of this project was to establish an extensive laboratory infrastructure and R&D facilities to enable the development of new technologies and products, creation of new standards of knowledge, and enable the growth of Olimp Laboratories' share in the OTC and supplements market. Apart from the research section, the new R&D Centre will have a pilot plant for test batches of new products.

The investment is in line with the Podkarpackie Province Development Strategy which is intended to improve the national and international competitiveness of the region. The project was carried out under the Operational Program: Development of Eastern Poland of the Priority Axis and Modern Economy, Measure I.3 - Innovation Support. The total investment project value is over PLN 83 million with PLN million from EU funding.

The building house an R&D facility comprised of physiochemical, microbiological, and pharmaceutical laboratories, as well as technical and implementation workshops where test production are performed. The company already has numerous state-of-art analytical equipment, i.e. bacteriometers, HPLC’s, GC, TLC, FTIR and ASA spectrometers.

The preferred candidates must have a PhD degree in pharmacy, however, laboratory technicians specializing in biotechnology and chemistry, as well as other technicians and automation engineers are also in the interest to the company.

The main objective of that project was to establish an extensive laboratory infrastructure and R&D facilities including pilot plants to enable the development of new technologies, setting new standards in dietary supplements, and increasing Olimp Laboratories' share in the dietary supplements and OTC market. Once completed, the project had enabled faster implementation of new products by market demand and with consideration of current nutritional trends as well as scientific advances in human nutrition and manufacturing technologies.

Olimp Laboratories carry out multi-level research in the areas of quality control of input materials and finished products for microbiological purity, energy values and nutritional values (proteins, carbohydrates, fats and fibre content), vitamin and micronutrient contents, amino acid contents, heavy metal contamination, and product stability. Olimp Laboratories is one of the few businesses in the industry to test for the contents of active substances in raw materials of plant origin which have the actual effect on the human body. The information provided from these tests is used in new product designs and in supplier verification processes.

The R&D center pilots production plants. They enabled the translation of the fore designs of new technologies developed in the laboratory sections into pilot products for further research into the new product solution concept. The research allowed the production of pilot products for clinical trials and stability testing to ultimately verify the transferability of the fore design adopted at the R&D stage to production.
