To enable the attendees to answer:  What is it ?  Where did it come from?  Why was it created?  How can I use it?  How can I improve it?

 It’s the factual knowledge that is the essential content of all undergraduate and graduate health management and policy programs at a given time, as determined by the members of the profession.

Education Process Competencies Knowledge, Skills, Attitudes Learning Objectives Curriculum Courses with Course Objectives Evaluation

 To be completed on site…

 To be competed on site.

Education Process Competencies Knowledge, Skills, Attitudes Learning Objectives Curriculum Courses with Course Objectives Evaluation So that the core KSAs would not get lost

 We used the AUPHA Faculty Forums and asked each one to define the minimum knowledge that an undergraduate and a graduate should know upon completing their studies.  78 faculty & practitioners contributed (15) different topics  Undergrad and grad levels are distinguished

 Template included:  Knowledge (facts, theories, frameworks, tools)  Learning Objectives by UG, G  Frequently used textbooks  Syllabi available through website

Major Themes: Theoretical Foundations Services and Systems Management External Factors

Org Behavior & Management Theory Financial Management Epidemiology Information Technology Economics Strategic Planning Health Systems & Hospitals Marketing Long Term Care Health Insurance Medical Group Practice Human Resources Public Health System Quality & Qual Improvement Leadership Health Policy Organizational Structure & Govern’ce Healthcare Law Ethics Global Healthcare Diversity

 Network.aupha.org  >Resources  >Body of Knowledge

 100% is not expected!  Reaffirm the core topics as they relate to your students, goals, competencies, curricula  Examine the knowledge items within each topic area to confirm which are right for your program  Compare graduate and undergraduate curricula  Look at what you require or offer that is not essential  Take advantage of resources: textbooks, syllabi, colleagues

 It lives on the Network in the form of a WIKI so it can be edited and amplified by any AUPHA Member.
