Bower Grove School – Peer Supervision To work effectively the group must agree:  No one person is the leader – we are all equals  The meeting is professional, not emotional  Help and support is to be objective and related to the case presented  To be solution focused  To remain confidential (should a serious concern become apparent the group needs to agree how this should be raised with the leadership team)  To follow the structure of the peer supervision process consistently  To be punctual, turn off mobile phones and fully participate in the process

Meeting Structure Elect roles: (3-5 minutes) Moderator – manages meeting Case presenter – brings the event/problem to be discussed Secretary – takes brief notes as recap tool Consultants – the remainder of the group These roles should rotate for each meeting Case presenter gives out line of issue (5-7 minutes) No-one else speaks Moderator ONLY asks clear and focused questions if needed for clarity Consultants may ask 2-3 questions – must not be solutions (5 minutes) Moderator asks case presenter to formulate 1 key question (2 minutes Moderator invites consultants to give ideas, proposals, solutions (Secretary takes notes) (10-15 minutes) Case presenter states which ideas have been helpful, useful and expresses thanks Moderator summarises the session and outcomes and reminds group of arrangements for next session
