All About Your Teacher 8 Mr. Zindman ¯ I have been a Special Education Teacher for many years. ¯ I Graduated Penn State, Stony Brook and Hofstra Universities. ¯ I am Experienced in meeting the needs of students with special needs. ¯ I love teaching middle school students

Our Class Teaching Assistant 8M8Ms Denny ¯ Has been a Special Education Teacher Assistant for many years. ¯ Ms. Denny has a wide array of experiences working with students with special needs. ¯ Is a college graduate. ¯ Is a New York State Certified Teaching Assistant. ¯ Loves to work with middle school students.

Lets learn about our Social Studies class

Social Studies Curriculum F7F7 th Graders will learn about U.S History from Prehistory to the Civil War. F8F8 th Graders will learn about U.S. History from the Civil War to today. FTFThe students will learn about U.S History using technology and class discussions.

Textbook F We will be using the textbook, America-History of Our Nation. F The textbook will stay home and be returned in June. All homework assignments will be completed from the textbook. A receipt for the textbook must be signed by a parent. F Students will be provided with a web link for the textbook when it comes available.

HOMEWORK F Social Studies homework is based upon the reinforcement of class lessons and the Common Core Curriculum. All assignments are provided for each student on paper. You need a textbook to complete all homework assignments! F All homework activities is available for your perusal at Just click on the homework tab.

Social Studies Grading Policy Your child’s grading will be determined in the following manner: 10%For class notes. 60%Test scores and computer web based activities. 30%Homework. 1000% Quarter grade Total: 100% of your grade Midterm and final exams account for 33 % of your final grade!
