Knowledge/Training gap In March 2015, we conducted an anonymous online survey for the Internal Medicine Residents to assess their perceived knowledge in MSK 48 residents completed the online survey (response rate 49%), predominantly comprised of upper level residents (HOIII 40% and HOII 38%). The majority of the respondents qualified their ability to examine the knee and shoulder as adequate to excellent (91.6% and 89.4%, respectively) Over half rated their ability to perform knee and shoulder injections as less than adequate (51.1% and 61.7%, respectively). 31.2% (15/48) rated their overall MSK education as less than adequate, 54.2% (26/48) as adequate and 14.6% rated training as good to excellent. The majority of residents (41/48 or 85.4%) perceive that MSK education is important to their future medical career (average to critical importance).
